Listen up everyone!  Ever heard of a restaurant called Ciao Baby?  Well if you haven't, look it up!  It's an amazing family style restaurant located on Long Island, NY.  The prices are great and the food is even better.  Give it a try!

Nerd Hello Kitty Cake

Hey everyone!  I've been on hiatus for a while now, but I'm back!  Recently I got a cake order from an old friend from High School.  She promised her friend a Nerd Hello Kitty cake, and I was her go to!  I love it when that happens!!

So the cake isn't the traditional white Hello Kitty.  This one is black, with nerd glasses and a red bow.  Everything is made out of fondant, except the whiskers which are gumpaste.  The 'Happy Birthday Mida' is attached to the board with water (A trick I learned a long time ago).  The water makes the bottom of the fondant sticky and once dried it sticks firmly to the board.

You poor blog!

Holy moley  I have completely forgotten about you blog!  I am the worst blogger on the face of this earth, I swear it.

Well listen here folks!  I have upped my game and now do cupcakes!  Yes, I know I'm a little late on the bandwagon, but I think I can catch up!  I've got a ton of recipes and tutorials already in the works that I hope to share with you soon.

Sant Agata dei Goti

Hey everyone!  Sorry for the lack of posts.  I was vacationing in Italy from May 29th - June 12th in the beautiful Sant Agata dei Goti!  I have a few cakes to post, so I'll get on it as soon as possible.

Girl's Communion Cake; Pink and White Cushion

This cake was made with a 3/4 sheet and 1/2 sheet cake stacked. They were covered in white fondant then given a cushion effect along the sides.  A pink pearl is placed at each point.  The top of the top tier was covered in baby pink fondant, then decorated with flowers and an inscription.

Boy's Communion Cake; Black and White Cross

This cake was made for my baby cousin's first Communion.  My cousin had a black and white themed party, so I made a simple black and white cake.  The sides of the cross have a cushion effect with pearls at each point.  The top is decorated with black buttercream and the inscription was made using edible paper.

Girl's Communion Cake; Pink, White and Gold

This is a simple 12" square cake for a girl's Communion.  There's a gumpaste bow, accompanied by light pink gumpaste flowers.
